    Replace or Repair?
    Hello
Its -15degC outside and my furnace will not light. Thankfully my gas fireplace seems to be keeping up.
I have a Keeprite furnace with a Honeywell SV9501M main gas and pilot controller.
I have checked the all the limits and the Solenoid is receiving 28V to ask for heat.
The Solenoid also has 28V and neutral applied to the proper terminals.
The heater has a resistance of 6 ohms and glows when I supply control voltage directly to it.
When calling for heat the heater element has 28V to ground on BOTH leads but draws no current. I am assuming that this means there is a bad neutral connection in the Solenoid.
Question. Is the solenoid repairable by removing the cover and trying to find the neutral break or is it a replace item only?
    Thanks

In the US it is illegal to open, repair or tamper with a gas valve. It sounds like you have what is known as a smart valve, two molex type connectors plug into the valve, we have a lot of problem with them and it really should be replaced.

    Thanks Northern heat.
I called the service company who had previously serviced the furnace for the previous owner.
Their response was that they had replaced the valve recently and it was under warranty!!
    They are on their way!
    Thanks again,
