Painter sprayed outdoor unit

Help. I just found out, through an ac tecnician, that my ac isn't working right because it is apparent that my painter did not cover my outdoor unit when spraying paint onto my house. It is verry obvious as the ac is painted and coated. Is there any hope beyond complete replacement?

You can check with your painter or paint supply store to see if there's anything that will remove the paint without damaging the condenser coils. There are products designed to remove graffiti from buildings that may work depending on what kind of paint was used. Just be careful not to flatten the fins.

There are some pretty good condenser coil cleaners that will remove the paint as well.
