Package heat pump

My church recently purchased a 4 ton Goodman package heat pump on line and after connecting ducts and thermostat we tested the system. It worked fine on heat but would not reverse to cool. The thermostat we bought from Home Depot, I think it was a Rite Temp. We probably wired it wrong, red to red, orange to orange, yellow to yellow, blue to C which was shown as optional. There were two jumpers called for one for red and one for yellow. Please help if you can.

Also carefully go over the directions for the thermostat, and how to hook it up to a heat pump.

I keep telling people, ''If you think keeping up a house is bad, try a church''. From a Presbyterian.

This is just a heat pump? No emergency heat? Installer set up will let you change type of heat pump you are trying to hook up. Not sure what the jumpers are jumping by your post
