New Honeywell RTH8580WF Themostat - No auto cool/heat mode?
    Hello,

Just today I received a new Honeywell WiFi thermostat. I was replacing a very similar Honeywell 8000 serious 7 day programmable thermostat. In fact short of the Wifi being a little bigger they are virtually identical.

The mounting plate as almost identical so I simply moved the existing wires from the old plate terminals to the new plate in the same positions. I verified they were in and tight.

After plugging in and setting up the new Wifi thermostat it only shows modes of "heat" and "cool". There is no auto as was present in the prior version. However the manual on the new Wifi thermostat claims it supports "Auto" but it will only show up depending upon how it was installed.

This leads me to believe either a wire is not well connected or perhaps this new thermostat needs something wired a little differently.

How do I go about figuring this out? We use the auto heat/cool mode a lot here in Colorado during the fall and spring months when the temp can swing 60 degrees.

    Thanks in advance

Glad you got it taken care of. I just saw your question and was going to suggest going through the setup process again to double check everything. Good job. Take care.

    Hello,

I own RTH8580WF thermostat, which is very good and I like this thermostat, but problem is that I live outside U.S.A, I live in Czech Republic and there is no possibilities to set my country time zone in Total Connect Comfort web application, I would like ask if there is some option how to solve this problem ? At least if is possible to disable time synchronization with internet which would solve my problem because I can set clock manually.

Thank you in advance for response
