Low Battery on Thermostat

My thermostat that controls the heat and air conditioning (Maple/Chase) says Low Battery. I changed the batteries and it still won't work. The air conditioner won't come on. What do I do? I've changed the batteries before and things were fine.

Hi Janice,

Is there a switch labeled "Fan"? If you flip it, does the fan come on? If not, this indicates to me that you are not getting power to the thermostat.
  1. Make sure all the wires are still firmly attached to the screws.
  2. Check for a tripped circuit breaker.
  3. All the wires from the thermostat eventually go into the furnace. Make sure these wires are firmly attached as well.

Hopefully, it will be one of these simple items.
