Loud banging from baseboard hot water heating system
I have been living in a home for 10 years with baseboard hot water gas heating system that has since day one given me headaches with a loud banging when the system is running. I recently installed a Hydronic gas boiler and accompanying European style slim radiators to the home to provide more even robust heat. The banging noise however continues in the bedroom, often times to the point of waking me up much earlier than needed. Sometimes I am forced to use a space heater when going to bed instead of the heating unit. What can I do, or have done to stop the banging. I have had the system bled, by professional plumbers more than twice to no avail.
    HELP!

Air in the system is the usual problem. Bleed the system or ad a device that absorbes or eliminates water hammer.

Hey thanks for the reply. Since I have already bled the system more than twice, can you recommend options in a device that eliminates water hammer?

These devicews for water hammer on a boiler are best left to a professional. Is your home a 2 story or ranch?

Thank you again for your response. My home is a four story three family home. From the boiler room to my bedroom is approximately 4 stories. With hat in mind, is the mini water hammer arrestor still a viable option to consider?

You might go to a larger arrestor but before you do I would seek some professional help to make sure all the correct steps are taken.
