i have a heating controler i got it is a white rodgers type 1f85-275 need to know if i hook up 120v to it or is it 24v and what wires go where can u help me dave

What type of furnace are you connecting this thermostat to?

Also that is a 24 volt thermostat. You hook a 120 volts to it and it is fried.

you have a low-voltage (24v) : 2 Heat/ 2 Cool thermostat,,did it not come with instructions? if not you should be able to google w/r tstats with the correct model number and find a instruction manual
