Ignition Lock

My furnace blinks 3 times repeatedly, it goes into what my furnace describes as "Ignition Lock" then it will restart after 3 hours, what does this mean and how can i change it? The house gets quite cold when it is in lock, and its to cold outside to have this happen.

Most frequent cause for a lockout on your furnace is overheating, poor airflow, dirty filter or evaporator coil.
