How much does it cost to replace a hvac unit in a condo
I need to replace the chassis in my Climatmaster HVAC system in my condo. I was give a quote of $4900 to replace the chassis with a new one that is directly from manufacturer with a 5 year warrantee. A refurbished chassis would cost $4000.

Are these prices normal for replacment? It seems quite high to me.

    Your comments are appreciated.

Don`t know what you are calling a chassis,, I`m a hillbilly from WV,, but what ever it is ,you should get several local estimates don`t jump on or away from your 1st offer, the labor and cost of equipment varries in different areas

The unit is 10yrs old, almost at the end of its life since it runs all the time AC in the summer and heat winter. The chassis is the heat pump but most importanly it's leaking freon and they cannot fix the leak. :(

My mother just had to replace the a/c and heat in her condo. She got a bunch of quotes and ended up with a new unit for $4,500 and a 10 year warranty.

I have a 1019 sqft condo, and $4500 including labor, is close to what I am looking at. Certain HVAC replacements will also qualify for a $1500 tax credit, so make sure you check into that as well.
