honeywell thermostat

can someone tell me about this i have a honeywell thermostat problem.the wires was hooked up wrong on the thermostat.I didn't remember how they had it hooked up i hook it up the right way color to color.the heat came on but when i cut on the a/c nothing came on i was wondering why they had the wiring messed up and did it work how they had it wired up?

do you have the instruction sheet? does it require a jumper from r-h to r-c,,,,it probably does
