Honeywell T8411R Blue wire Not Connected
We were going to replace the TR8411R thermostat with a programmable one and have discovered that we apparently have a heat pump (we just bought the house last week). As we were trying to match the wires to the new thermostat we found that a blue wire was not attached. The installer seemed to follow the color coding to the lugs pretty well so we are assuming that the Blue wire should go to the B lug.

Currently there are wires attached as:
    Lug Wire Color
    R Red
    W2 & E White
    O Orange
    Y Yellow
    G Green
    C Brown

    L, B, W1 Currently don't have a wire connected to them.

Do you think we should attach the Blue wire to the B lug?

Are there special programmable thermostats for Heat Pumps?

Normally blue wire is common. If you have batteries in your new thermostat you will not need the blue wire connected. Just tape it off.
