Hey I got a new thermostat for the house but went to replace the old one and I have a Yellow, Green, Red, White, and Blue wires but the thermostat has the Y, G, Rh, Rc, and W. An electrician friend hooked it up for me and did the following:
Y - Yellow
G - Green
Rh - Red with a jumper to Rc
W - White
And left the blue off

Everything works OK except my heat... it only runs when the fan is set to "On" and not at all when set to "Auto"

Any tips?

What brand furnace do you have? Is it a coleman? Is your ac on the same system, or is it separate? If this is a normal system it should be working as wired.

I'm having almost the same problem. Same wire colors, only my heater runs constantly even when set in the OFF position. AAHHH!
