    Home air conditioning doesn't work.
I bought my home 7 years ago and the central A/C that came with it was working. I just
Turned it on for the first time this summer and it worked for a couple minutes and stopped completely. Nothing is working! I reset the circuit breaker but still doesn't turn on. I have
One thermostat for heating and cooling. When I switched it on to cool and reduce the
Temperature I hear a click which means that the thermostat is working but nothing else turn
On. There is like a whitish fuse next to the unit outside the house, I unplugged it and plug
It back in but still wouldn't work. My A/C has two units one in my attic and the fan unit outside my house. I don't know what next to do, can you advise as quickly as possible,it's about 90 degrees over in New York right now.
    Thank you.

Check all fuses and replace if necessary. Next step is to call for professional on site service.

I'm trying to connect my 5 wire thermostat. Two sets of wire coming out of the wall one is a two wire black and gray and the other is a three wire which consists of red white and green.
The thermostat on the wall has from left to right letters g,y,w,rh,b,o and rc.
I've connected the three wires (green to green, white to white and red to rc. The two wires - gray got connected to the yellow and the black got connected to rh. Can you tell me if this wiring is correct?

I have no idea because those are not standard thermostat wiring colors. I would not want to guess on this one for fear of causing damage by the incorrect hook up. Sorry but you will need to trace where the wires go on your end and place them on the correct thermostat terminals.

You should call a company but, let me tell you something if you know something about A/C check the 24v in your contactor outside in the condenser if something is wrong replace it . Check if you have 24v in your transformer and check the fuse in your circuit board or computer some people call it like that, this parts are inside your unit or furnace in your attic. OK.

There is a website called advancedairtucson.com. They specialize in heating and cooling. They have a section called, "Ask the technician." They can answer your questions. You don't even have to sign up just ask and then check back for the answer. They really helped me out I had 4 companies that couldn't figure out the problem. Their tech found it in under 20 minutes.
