A/C won't cut off

I have a Hunter thermostat model # 44110. It will not cut the a/c off when it reaches the temp. It continues to run until you turn it off. I have looked on the Hunter website and that did not help.

Does the a/c lines freeze up? If so, and it seems likely anyway that the contactor is stuck.

is it just the outside unit that will not turn off or is it the fan inside also you really did not specify if it is both not turning off look at your thermastat to be your problem if it is just out side than follow the previous good advice.

The first step is to pull the red wire off the thermostat. If the A/C stops, you have a problem in the thermostat. If not, likely one of the relays is stuck. Is both the inside blower and the outside unit continuing to run?
