heat cuts on and off in three second intervals when on auto

help,, my heater (heat strip) cuts on and off constantly,,
the fan and everything shuts down and kicks right back on,,
the ac works good,, but the heat will only stay on when its on fan mode..
but even then you can tell the heat strip is cutting off and on..

Lack of air flow. Check and clean your air filter first.

Some of the older units used a fan limit switch to bring on the blower after the heat strips have kicked on. Do you know the age and make of your system?
