Explorer309, #1 chec the vent that goes up thru the roof , it could be plugged up ,btrds and wasps love to build nests in them and vents for the sewer. They make a brush to put on a long stick that cleans the vent pipe out like a fireplace chimmney. Now if it has a lot of suit likec youer saying I would get the GAS co OR a air and heating co to check to see if the flame is burning to high and oxygen setting to high I believe you will find the gas needs to be adjusted.
