| Could depend on how it is wired. Best thing to do is to go to the furnace and check if you can see flames through the air intake or hear it burning. If so, the propane is running. If you have a heat pump, and the outside unit is running, you are using electricity. Heat pumps don't work very well much below 30 degrees. You might better let the propane run at that time.
