    Furnace blowing black soot
My Oil Furnace is blowing black soot into the house through all the vents.
What could be causing this and what can I do to fix the problem?

Sounds to me like 2 problems.
1 The burner and air are out of adjustment creating soot.

To the heat exchanger is leaking allowing soot, CO, and other combustion products into the service air. If the air levels are low, the CO is likely high.

This is a very serious problem. If you can't find and fix a problem yourself, get a pro. If the problem isn't fixed today, don't sleep in the house without a CO detector.
