Frigidaire gas furnace FG6RA 096C 10B too noisy

Asked Sep 18, 2008, 12:39 PM — 2 Answers
I recently got a Frigidaire 2 stage furnace, FG 6RA 096C 10B, installed. It is very noisy. The installer says it is because of the high powered motor. The noise drives me crazy. Can anything be done about it? Secondly, how do I set the fan to work continuously?

Thank you.

The fan setting should be on your thermostat. Look for a small slide switch mark AUTO?ON, move it to ON for 24/7 operation which is what I recommend for most home owners. Noisy is kind of relative. A 2 stage fan does make more noise when on high because its moving a great deal more air. Ask a factory rep from the manufacturer to visit your home and measure decibels and compare to factory stats.
