Fan never shuts off

I recently purchased my first home. It has a Frigidaire Furnace, Model B3BM-036K-B. The weather has gotten warmer, so I turned the thermostat "off". The fan still runs, and cool air comes out of the registers. Is this normal? How do I shut it off? It's not cold enough for the furnace, nor warm enough for the air conditioner. Open windows work just fine. Any advice? Thanks.

The easiest thing to fix would be if there is a switch on the thermostat labeled "Fan". It is used to force the fan to run all the time. If it is on, or if there is a short in that particular circuit, then the fan would run continuously. Let's hope that is all it is.

Good Luck,
WallyH

Turn your thermostat setting to "Auto". Inspect the furnace cabinet for a fan switch and turn it to "Off". For a temporary fix, turn your emergency switch or breaker to off. You will need to find the cause as Wally suggests for a permanent solution.
