Condenser Unit Fan Motor

Asked Aug 8, 2007, 11:43 AM — 2 Answers
Can I replace a 5.? Inch body motor with a 3.? Inch body motor, as long as the electrical specs are the same? The shaft on the 3.? Inch body motor is longer, of course. Thanks.

As long as it will mount and the electric is the same you should be OK.

I might suggest for you not to waste your time , I don't think you will find a motor that has the same rpm, voltage , hp, as the 5" motor. THe brackett will not fit and it will take time to adapt a different brackett to fit the smaller motor, better to replace like for like. Good luck. Mike
