A/C seems to work fine but inside house is humid
I have a 15 month old Goodman 2 ton package unit (13 seer). Unit seems to work fine. But lately, the inside of the house seems humid all the time. Everything is sticky, and the air is humid and not dry like it should be. What should I look for to solve this problem?

Check the drain line for the A/C section that is in doors. If the drain is plugged up it will not allow the condensate to drain and it will make it feel sticky. Next step is to call the contractor who installed your system. It is a good possibility that a leak has developed and you are a little short on charge which will also cause this type of problem. Make sure if it is shore of refrigerant that they fix the leak or you will be doing this every year.

The unit is almost new and it should be operating well unless there was a mistake (bad braze joint) made by the contractor who sold you the unit. Usually a bad braze joint is where the leak will be found if there is one.

One last thought. You did change your air filter?? If not that could also be a problem.

    HVAC1000,
I changed the filter, and even cleaned the coils around the fan motor. I'll check the drain line and hope it's not a bad braze joint. Thanks for the help!
