Ac fan not spinning?

Ac fan on carrier unit outside was not running. I used the screwdriver test and it strated running again but we now have no cool air coming in it is just blowing air out the vents.

Mine did the same thing I had a new motor installed works fine now.

I don't know what the screwdriver test is. If your start capacitor is bad and you spin the fan blade to start the motor, the fan will run. BUT only until the system turns it off. It will not start again by itself. You can go out a start the fan each time the compressor comes on or you can replace the capacitor.

Lol,as to the screwdriver test I was thinking he was using a screwdriver to spin the fan and make it run. I might have been way off base
