The ringing should gradually go away once you are over your cold. It is basically a fluid build up in your ears causing the ringing or quite possibly the cold medication you took while ill.

Wax removal is usually the number one suggested treatment.
If you don't have any pre existing vascular disease, I would suspect that Twinkie is right and it will subside after the inflammation/fluid is gone.
