Is relapse considered a pre-existing disease

My kid had a disease and was treated for it. I am now buying health insurance for him. If he has a relapse of this disease, would it be treated as a pre-existing disease?

Depends on the insurer, but I'd say yes.
Ask your broker for clarification.
