focused deductible vistahealth

Health insurance for my wife became too much, premium for next year is $560.00
office vist $20.00 Specialist $40.00.
another option is the focused deductibles. similar to the plan above. but with the exception
you must pay $1,000 deductible and then $200.00 co-pay a day up to five days.
also a $250.00 drug deductible this plan cost $465.00 a month.

the doctor and speciaistl co-payments are the same under both plans. of course
there are no deductibles under plan 20A. The hospital room co-pay per day is the same
under both plans. it is only two points that are different the $1,000 deductibe and 250 drug deductible
but at walmart the prescriptions are only $4.00. the first plan is $560.00 a month and the focused plan
is $465.00

what do you think. Wife's age 57

Couple questions: On the current plan what is your overall annual deductible that you must meet?

On the 2nd plan, what are the co-pays for prescriptions??

(You didn't provide parallel information for both plans )

Just at first glance, it seems like the first plan may be better especially if she's seeing doctors regularly and having prescriptions filled often.

Are you on the same plan? If not, perhaps look into adding her to your plan if that option is available to you. If you have a group plan through work, it may be cheaper to add her rather than her having a separate health policy.

Also look into a One Deductible plan. This allows family members to share an annual deductible. This way, both of your doctors' visits and prescription refills count towards a common deductible.
