will a misdemeanor hurt me?

I have an A misdemeanor for conversion from when I was younger and really want to go to school to become an RN. Will this hurt me or keep me from attending school? Please help!

I did 6 months of probation and it was deffered but will always be on my record. I also live in Indiana.
