where should I look for care?

Asked Jul 10, 2012, 02:33 PM — 2 Answers
Hi,
I relocated to Cleveland, OH with my sister a couple days ago. I have no insurance and no income. I am 5 months pregnant and 250 lbs. My weight was considered a risk for my baby, so she transferred me to a more specialized hospital. Unfortunately, I cannot be seen at this hospital because I have no insurance or income. Can you help me? where should I look for care?

Who is she that transfered you ?

why did you move, do you need to move back.

Why are you not on medicaid ?

Call and find out which hospital has to take anyone, the car may not be as good, don't expect speciality units.

Why won't that hospital treat you? It is an EMTALA violation for a hospital to turn down a patient due to lack of insurance or ability to pay unless this is a private hospital.
