I went on a installed Windows XP Pro 32bit, retail, went through all the setup process. installed successfully. When i restarted the pc, it wouldnt load xp , and a white cursor just jumping on the screen.

Yesterday i left the pc on after i saw the cursor blinking, and when i came back after3 hrs( opprox) , windows had loaded. So i thought everything should be fine, thus restated the pc. But again the same thing, just dont wanna load os ......is something wrong with my hd......... any help would be appreciated. Jus to let u kno on startup the bios recognized all the hardware.

Ensure your cd rom drive is installed as secondary master, and the Seagate as primary master. Putting a cd rom and hard drive on the same cable gives very bad performance. Set jumpers to master position, don't use CS (cable select) position.

Disconnect the floppy, reboot Also Ensure that the floppy cable is plugged in correctly. Pin 1 to Pin 1.

Disconnect the cd rom, reboot.

Do you have any external usb devices connected? disconnect it.

Try installing only 1 stick of ram. Try each individually and in each slot.

What are you using for video? onboard video?

If you can get into the bios, load default bios settings.
