about hardrives

harddrives

bought new computer want to give old computer to my niece how can i delete information off hardrive before i give old computer or do i have to install a new hardrive

Do you have the disks that original came with he computer? You can also restore it to a really early date, and although not everything is back to original, most of it is. Another thing you can do is just manually search things and remove them and safely remove programs using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.

The best thing would be to use the Recovery CD and restore it to factory conditions. The next best would be to reformat and reinstall the operating system.
