I have a touch tablet how do I get it to pick up the wifi

It is a Android Processor:WM8505+, Edition:V3.0 and the book says it is wireless ready....it has a grey plastic piece that can be plugged in the side is that the wifi adapter?

I found several tablets built on the WM8505 platform. There should be some app that you have to run to connect to a WiFi hotspot.
