Yuck to my Hair color!

I really don't have a clue as to what my natural color is anymore, but it's been various shades of Champagne Blonde, Med. Light Brown and these colors have always faded, to look brassy. I decided I wanted to have some red highlights so I went to Light Reddish Brown.......Big mistake, it turned Burgundy........ouch........so the next morning I colored it champagne Blonde again, which soften the Burgundy....but it is still so dark I'm just not sure what to do..I've heard about the dish detergent, but does it lightened it faster, then just normal washing would do? HELP!!!!!!
