using cap/mesh to color hair?

why is it when you go to the hairdressers and you want to go blond or lighter, they always use the cap or meshes and say they can not put bleach straight on your head ,which i get that but you can buy high lightening kits that do the same job and you can put that straight on your head, is it a money making thing or something els??????????????

When you get highlights, the hairstylist will use a cap, foils or the mesh method to put highlights and dimensions in the hair. However, if they have a client that wants to go blonde, they will bleach the whole hair and then apply a toner to make the color look natural. Perhaps there's a reason why your stylist won't bleach close to the scalp. Sometimes bleaching your hair can burn the scalp and cause the hair to fall out. And if your hair is fragile, the stylist will not bleach close to the scalp or the whole hair.
