I've decided I'm really tired of dyeing my hair. It's mostly gray now but was colored sort of a light reddish brown, with the intended color being strawberry blonde.

So now my roots are maybe an inch long -- is there a way I can remove the color from my hair? Will the dark hairs (I still have some natural dark brown hair left here and there) stay dark?

Then what I want to try is temporary color that will wash out evenly... so hopefully I'll never have gray roots again...right? Because the temporary color will all wash out leaving my natural gray hair?

I hope someone has experience with this. I don't go to a beauty shop BTW.

Apply 20% peroxide to gray hair for 10 minutes before coloring, then apply hair color to the hair. This will allow all the gray hair to grab and will make your hair color last longer. If you want to cover your gray hair completely, use a Permanent color, one shade lighter than your natural color. Be sure to leave the coloring on your hair for the maximum time allowed by package directions.
