Hair is now dark brown w/ red tinge now what to do?

My problem is that I colored my hair last night medium neutral brown and it came out looking dark-darkest brown with a cast of red to it. My hair use to be Neutral blonde HL using 40V, but when I became pregnant last year I let it grow out. My natural hair is between a dark blond, or light brown (mousey brown) So the cast of red is half way down my head where natural color is & the where the blonde hair was (which from not coloring for a while & adding beige to the blonde) is a dark solid brown. I'm not sure if I am warm or cool toned, because I have rosacea I was told to stick to a golden brown, but I didn't because I wanted a neutral brown w/ golden/beige highlight chunking. Should I put an ash brown or get one of those hair dyes for dark brown hair to lighten to a lighter brown? Maybe I should bleach it back to blonde because I look pale & aged my self! I'm 35 looking like I'm much older..PLease help me??????

If your hair is color-treated and you use a darker, it will grab the color you use quickly, making your hair darker. To neutralize the red tones in your hair, you can use a green-base ash hair coloring product in dark ash brown or ash brown. In order to go from dark brown to light brown, you may have to use some kind of hair lightening product to achieve results. This can be done by using a higher volume-peroxide developer with your selected color in equal parts, however, it could produce an unpleasant shade. So it would be best to pre-lighten your hair a level lighter than the color you want and then apply the desired color. If you think brown hair doesn't suit your skin tone, and want to go back to blonde, please go to a salon and have a corrective color done.
