Sudden hair loss in a 23 yr old woman

Hi,
I hope some of you can help me out. Within the past few weeks I've noticed a widened part and multiple areas over my scalp where my hair seems to have fallen out. I usually can go a day and a half without shampooing but now my scalp gets oily again just hours after I wash my hair. The roots are extremely oily and the ends are really brittle. I haven't changed my diet, I'm at a good weight and I do yoga about 4 times a week. There is construction going on next door ... could that have something to do with it? I'm afraid of losing all my hair.

There are many causes of hair loss, such as heredity, stress, diet, disease or illness, birth control pills, medications, ringworm or low serum iron. Excessive sebum on the scalp can also lead to hair loss and hair thinning. You should consider seeing a doctor regarding your hair loss. The doctor will examine your scalp and run some tests to see what's causing it and then prescribe a treatment.
