Professionally colouring my hair black, pink, blue, purple.

This Friday I have an appointment to get my hair dyed. I want a definite change. My appointment is supposed to be for dying my hair black.. With three long, thick, chunks of purple, pink, and blue. My hair is at the mid back length and currently a dyed dark auburn colour. People were telling me that if I do this to my hair upkeep will be a pain in the bottom. According to them the bright colours will fade after a week or two even though it's professionally done and it will be expensive to keep getting it touched up. Do you all figure this to be true? If so I don't want to spend the amount of money I'm planning on spending just for something that lasts a couple weeks. Should I just do something else with my hair like go blonde? Thanks in advance.

Your advisers told you correctly that the purple, pink, and blue will fade quite quickly and significantly and upkeep will be difficult.

As for what you should do? That's entirely up to you.
