knots in hair

i have the hugest, most matted knot in the back of my long natural curly hair. i've been trying to get this out for months with hair oil, detangler, conditioner, picks, anything you can think of. i really do not want to cut my hair cuz it took me a long time to get it this long. can you give me any other ideas on how to get it out?: confused:

Shampoo your hair and apply a leave-in conditioner or anti-frizz serum and distribute it throughout your hair. Then use a wide-tooth comb and gently comb out the knots. You can also apply baby oil to the knots and then take a wide tooth comb and comb through your hair. If these methods doesn't work, I recommend that you go to the salon and have a hairstylist help you remove the knots.
