Permanent hair color results in a permanent coloring of the hair until your hair grows out. In order go from black to a lighter shade, you will need to use some kind of hair lightening product. If you don't want to strip or lighten your hair, then try using Prell, dandruff shampoos, clarifying shampoos or dish detergent to fade the color.

The only way to get black hair dye out is to strip it or bleach it.
You could bleach it yourself, but then you'd get a orange color, go to a professional

I think that the easiest way is to start bleaching process little by little. Maybe get some streaks and once it starts growing out go int dfor some more. Also you can lighten it and put some red in it. Red is the easiets color to switch over from black.

All you need to do is put lemon juice in your hair and then go and sit outside... as you should no the sun naturally lightens your hair... the lemon juice acts as a catalyst and speeds it up... hope this helps

If your hair is dyed black, lemon juice DOES NOT WORK. That will only work on natural hair color. You MUST strip or bleach your hair. I've been black and gradually going to ash-golden brown. It takes more than one strip/bleach to get out as I've had it black for a while, so it's a process. But I've been doing my own hair for years- if you don't really know what you're doing, seek a professional.

You CAN lighten your black hair with lemon juice. I have dyed black hair and did lemon juice worked. You mix 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with 1/4 cup of conditioner (or thick conditioning mask). You can use as much conditioner or lemon juice in the mixture as you want. Blow dry the hair on hot, let it sit for 10 minutes then repeat up to 6 times. Rinse out, soak hair in conditioner or conditioning mask for 10 minutes then you can repeat again. I did this 3 times and my pieces were a nice medium golden brown and looked very good in the black.
