How do I get my hair dark again without ruining it?
    Hello!
I have naturally dark brown/black hair. For the past year I have gotten it dyed brown with blonde highlights. I now want to go back to my natural color. I want to dye it while it is growing out so the roots don't show as much. If I buy a box of brown dye from the store, will this make my hair all the same color or should I get it professionally done?

I would always suggest getting it porfessionally done. BUt as that can be expensive at home dye is sometimes better. Make sure you find the closest color to your roots... Then apply the dye to the length of your hair first and THEN the roots... The roots will go faster than the rest as it's not yet color treated. Actually I've heard that dying your hair a darker color is far healthier than dying it a light color since blondes put microscopic holes in the strands...

    Good luck!!

If going from light to dark you need to pre pigment the blonde hair to avoid your hair looking lighter in some places. Try applying a gold temporary hair colour to the blonde, dry it in. Then apply the brown colour on top.

But it is recommended that you do get it done from a professional.

    That's a good idea!

When your hair was bleached, it took out all the pigments, including the red tones. If you want to go from blonde to brown, you must first use a red filler/hair color over the blonde highlights and then apply your brown hair color.
