I have Red hair & really want to go blonde

[F][/font] My hair is red but it has a lot of ginger through it. It is very thick & is not straight or curly, it is naturally frizzy.

For years I have tried to change the colour but I almost always encounter problems. Most hairdressers I go to tell me it is impossible to dye my hair because of the red pigment. To be honest because it is very multi coloured & very thick I've been told by other hairdressers it's too big a job & the can't be bothered . The problem I have is that I cannot get hairdressers to do what I want to my hair unless I go to a really expensive salon & pay £150-£250 for the colour. Then up keep is far too expensive & if I go 2 more reasonably priced salons they tell me it can't b done because I have too much red hair!.

I want to know why celebs with red hair can change their colour all the time & I can't get any one to help me! I have a friend with Black afro hair & she can have her hair blonder than mine!!

I just want some advice on dying red hair. I was blonde once but grew it out due to the cost of the up keep. What is a good colour to dye red hair (I DO NOT want to dye it cooper, this seems the only option they give it I want to get rid of the ginger not 2 make it worse!). Can some1 help me & tell me how it is possible to dye jet black hair blonde but I can't dye my red hair blonde & give me some alternatives as each time I visit the hairdressers I come home very disappointed .

Any help/advice will be much appreciated

Debbie McKinnon

Hey ! i have red hair ..( i was naturally strawberry blonde) and i had curls LOTS .but now it is copper red actually, yeah i know the hair salons can be very annoying . ive got into fights with some haha . I mean like if you have the money. they should shut up and do it right ? lol , anyway . you CAN dye your hair blonde when you have red hair, it took me months to get it blonde. MONTHS! and i just dyed my hair copper red, 2 weeks ago , i bought sunlight(concentrated ) detergent , washed my hair 3 times with it tonight actually. then i used joico conditioner , ( note: IF YOU EVER USE BLEACH this will fix the dryness! trust me! ) IT REPAIRS ALL your damage. dont blowdry if you bleach it just leave your conditioner in for about 10 mins . when i last went to the hair salon, i said to them i want blonde hair, BLEACH blonde hair, and i dont care how much it is. all you gotta do in hair salons is act like you have cash to spare ; ) if you know what i mean . lol , the mistake i did the last time was i went to a simple place to get my hair done. and what did they do but just put highlights through my hair, and did it ever look ridiculous! .. lol youre better off doing it yourself with some good blonde hair dye . if youre going to use just bleach. leave it in long. but not too long. then when you are done COVER IT with joico conditioner , and let it stay in for a while then rinse , ps. do NOT blowdry.. for god sakes don't blowdry your hair. Just towel dry and leave it dry on its own . or if you want you can buy leave-in conditioner. Aftter that the best hair products to keep you blonde are : Sunsilk Blonde Bombshell shampoo and conditioner , .. i still use joico conditioner , at the moment. LOL the sunsilk will make your hair moisturized and feel healthy hope this helps!
