Hairy situation [lol]

Lol,
In June I died my hair black, it was semi-permanent (about 28 washes), and I have dyed it 4 or 5 times since then (I dyed it myself) and it looks brown at the top, red in the middle, and black at the bottom. Shouldn't it have grown out since it has been 6 months? I am thinking about going to a professional. I would like to go to a light brown or blonde, is that possible without frying my hair?

If you are a brunette and want to go blonde, you will need to bleach your hair and then add the selected color. When you use chemicals on your hair, you run risk of damaging it. Find a hairstylist that has experience in hair coloring.
