hair turned yellow, need help!

i had a dark blondish hair color.. with light highlights..
i decided to change my color.. i wanted my hair all one color.. a lightish blonde, but i have a very low budget so i decided to do it myself and went to the store and bought a blonde hair color (Clairol - Born Blonde 'Original') .. it turned out terrible!! my roots are like white and the rest of my hair is either orange or yellow. I need to fix it asap because i am going back to school in 4 days!! but like i said i am on a low budget.. how can i fix my hair and get it back to like a normal blonde color.. i heard about the volume 20 stuff but i have no idea what that means? if someone can help me thatd be great!!

If you want to go blonde, minus the orange, you will need to bleach your hair. The second step is toning, it's when a new color is then deposited into the cortex through the cuticle to achieve the color you want. Using 20-volume developer mixed with a bleaching agent will lighten the hair. You will find the bleaching products at the beauty supply store. When you apply the bleaching mix on your hair, be sure to monitor it so it won't cause it to over process. Since the roots are white, do not bleach the roots, apply it only to the orange in your hair. Once you've applied the bleaching mix, you must bleach it to a yellow stage, then rinse the hair immediately with luke warm water. Then dry your hair and apply the toner/color you desire. This process is very difficult. Please get your mom or a friend to help you do your hair.
