What did you use to strip your hair? You can use hair color removers to strip hair, or you can do a "double process which is bleaching out the old hair color and then adding back the base hair colors that make up the shade you want.

Some brown dyes have a green base in them, which can cause light hair to turn green. Also, applying a brown color over blonde hair may result in a green cast. If you want to go from blonde to a decent brown color, it will require a 2 step coloring process. Blonde hair has no pigment in it, and if you pour a box of brown color over it, you will end up with unwanted shades. You would need to apply a red color to your hair and then color if brown in order to go from blonde to brown.

The hairstylist will mix a red-base hair color poduct to counter-act the green cast in your hair. If you want to go back to being blonde, they will need to strip your hair, and apply a toner to achieve the color you want.
