Adding dark streaks to colored blonde hair

Hello! I have colored my hair blonde w/ hi-light kits as well as a frost kit...,my roots are growing out and I want to add some darker streaks to my hair, red or brown or both! How do I go about this or is there even a way for me to do this at home? I would like to do it myself, but I have no problem going to a salon. I've looked in the stores, I'm just not sure what to buy.

If you want to add dark streaks to your blonde highlights, you will need to use a deposit only color. Remember that deposit only colors may make your hair darker than expected. So it's best to choose a shade that's only slightly darker than your current color.
