Where can I get a grant that i dont have pay for

I am looking for a grant for finishing a invention and for buying tools/equipment. Everywhere I look I have to pay but surely there is somewhere that isn't like that, maybe someone knows how to apply for a grant or grants of anykind that I don't have to pay for.
