Generally, you cannot get widow's or widower's benefits if you remarry before age 60. But remarriage after age 60 (or age 50 if you are disabled) will not prevent you from getting benefit payments based on your former spouse's work. And at age 62 or older, you may get benefits based on your new spouse's work, if those benefits would be higher.

My Husbane was a vietnam vetran, not disabled. He was with cancer in 2005. He passed 6 months later in the vetrans Hospital in Dayton Ohio. With in that 6 months he drew 2 disability checks and then he passed 12/30/2006. What I wanted to ask is " my widow pension" I was told I would receive 1,000 a month
If I took it at 60, if I wate till I am 62 I will receive 1,500 a month, I did not remarry an I don't plan on it.
My husbane worked double the social security credits in his life time, we were married 36 years, with 2 children, he always worked 2 jobs. I worked part time at
Different jobs. My job now is a state job with school system food service, I have been there since 2000 an still working at age 58, it is getting a little harder to work like I used to with health reasons. What can you tell me about widow pension? How can I determan how much I will get at 60 or 62. If it is the amount of his
Disabillty check when he was in the hospital, weither I take it at 60 or 62 will it make a difference either age.
