    Obtaining Greek Birth Certificate
    Hi

    I was wondering if it is possible or if there is an easy way to track down a copy of my grandfathers birth certificate? We know that he was born in Greece but are not sure whereabouts. Is there any easy way to do this without going to Greece and visiting each local authority and checking with them?

    You can call each municipality - assuming you speak Greek - and have them look in their records. They're usually willing to accommodate [again, assuming you speak Greek]. Your local Greek consulate can provide you the numbers of the "Dimotologio" department in each municipality.

    The fastest way to do this, however, would probably be to hire an attorney to do the legwork for you...
