How to apply for dual citizenship
Im a greek american girl trying to get dual citizenship with US/Greece. My dad is from there, but moved here before he had me. How do I go about starting this process, and how long does it take? Where do I go to give the proper documents to? And how can I get my grandparents birth certificate/marriage certificates from Greece if they've already passed away? Is there a service I can pay to do all of this work for me perhaps? And, am I able to do this from the US, or do I have to go to Greece for it? Im planning a move there this December and don't want to go through the hassles of visas or residency permits. It looked like it would be easy since my dads from there, but I've been leaving messages with the consulates for over a month and no one will return my calls, emails or faxes. Im at my wits end because I don't want to be kicked out after 3 months. Any info would be really appreciated.
    Thanks, Eleni

I've been in a similar situation, and I've found that you really have to go to the consulate in person, and then just be really persistent until you get somewhere...
Beauraucracies can be really difficult, but I've found that a human face to go with the paperwork can sometimes help.
