Canadian wanting to move to United States.

Hi everyone! I am aware most of you on this website are American. I am Canadian. I have been very interested in moving to the U.S, but I'm not very educated about the differences. Ive never been there, but California and Florida look very nice. Where are some nice places in the U.S to live? Where are the best places to make a good living? Is it very different from Canada? What differences can I expect if I move there? I have many questions! Thanks guys.

Arizona and Nevada are suppose to be good. Virginia if you have the money.
They say California, Virginia and Connecticut's cost of living is high.
Montana is beautiful if you still want the colder weather.
I like the Southern states. Atlanta Georgia is suppose to have a good bit of jobs.
Pittsburgh and most of Pennsylvania the economy is bad and I heard much of Michigan's economy is not much better.
What type of work would you want?

Thank you. People I know talk alot about Arizona, they either travel to Arizona, Montana (because its close) or Vegas. The economy is booming where I am now, Alberta. But the place is polluted and overpopulated from people moving here for the boom. You can't get away at all around here. Theres also no nice landscape except for the mountains. I was thinking maybe a job in real estate.

Many big cities here are over populated you want to move like at least one county next to a big city so that you can work and shop in the city if you have to and then get away from it all.
Like Arizona you want to move to Sedona and be near Phoenix. They say Sedona is great.
Phoenix is also suppose to be good for work too.

arizona and montana look like really nice places to live. I live in a smaller city outside of our biggest city, its not too bad. Montana has similar landscape, since they touch one another haha. Do Americans have to pay as much taxes as we do? Because I know if a person makes about 40 000 thousand a year, they are sometimes paying almost half of that to taxes in a year.

Taxes vary with the state
as far as local taxes
Nevada and I think New Hampshire don't pay as much taxes as most states.
I think California, Virginia, Connecticut and Alaska pay high local taxes.

As far as federal taxes it sounds like you would be better off in the USA if you are paying almost half. You might want to ask that on the tax board here. http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/taxes/
